First tour on Knörrinn for this season
To day the new month began and now we have more departures than before. Together with captain Hörður, I went for the 9 o´clock trip. The course was set towards the western part of the bay. Soon after we arrived there we spotted a Minke whale. We did not have to wait for too long until more Minke whales showed up. Also we got a close up experience as one of the Minke whales surfaced close behind our boat, Knörrinn. After a while we saw a bigger spout a bit further north. Once again we set a new course, towards the spout. After we had arrived in the area where the spout was we looked around our boat and soon we noticed a humpback whale surfacing not far away. After having gotten a great look at this Humpback whale we decided to go closer to the mountains to take a look at the waterfalls there. These days they have quite much water because the weather has been great the last days and the snow in the mountains is melting. In front of those waterfalls we decided to take a photo of all the passengers on board for that this was the first trip on board Knörrinn for this season. As the photo had been taken we set the course towards Húsavík and on the way back we enjoyed hot chocolate and cinnamon rolls.
