A sunny day in Skjálfandi bay with Blue Whales
This morning as we headed to the bay the sun was shining and there was almost no wind. These are great conditions for whale watching. We set the course towards the area we had seen Blue whales yesterday. After about an hour of sailing we spotted a powerful blow and as we got closer we were sure that we had found one of the Blue whales from yesterday. Soon we had also spotted some other Blue whales in the distance. After a while we noticed that there where not only Blue whales around us, there where also Humpback whales in the area. As we where waiting for the Blue whales to surface again we enjoyed the Humpback whales. We got a great look at both of those species close up and got to realize how big they really are.
