A feeding frenzy and a Humpback Whale
On all our trips today the main action was in the area close to the so called “Fiskisker” (“Fish Rock”) close to the mountains on the western side of the bay.
We encountered several minke whales (sometimes up to four of them in the same area) feeding among hunreds of seabirds, mainly arctic terns, kittiwakes and fulmars.
During the tour at 10:00, we also encountered a humpback whale in the same area, a really nice surprise!
And during the tour at 17:00, one minke whale came up next to our boat and decided to roll around and swim on its back, showing us its white belly for a few moments!
There are no two tours the same and you never know what you might encounter, let’s see what tomorrow will bring! 😉
