Killer whales in the bay!
On this rather chilly and rainy March-morning in Húsavík, North Sailing’s first whale watching tour of the 2014 season was operated, earlier than ever before.
Six excited passengers left Húsavík harbour on-board Bjössi Sör, with captain Heimir and guide Sammi, at 10 o’clock this morning.
Passengers and crew encountered six killer whales, which is a relatively rare sight in Skjálfandi Bay. These majestic animals were rather curious and spent a while exploring the boat, passengers and crew. Captain Heimir sent us the following photo as Bjössi Sör was heading back to Húsavík harbour towards the end of the highly successful first whale watching tour of the season.
It is safe to say that the season is off to a good start and we are excited and optimistic towards the whale watching season that was kick started this morning.
