Two humpbacks and snow covered mountains
We left the harbour in beautiful winter conditions onboard “Bjössi Sör” this morning: It was cold, but the weather was very nice and the mountains on the other side of the bay were just stunning: They were completely white and the light was just beautiful for some nice winter landscape photos!
During the tour we encountered two humpback whales: The first whale was busy feeding in the middle of the bay and after having spent about 30 minutes with this whale, we decided to sail a bit further out. After we had been searching for a while, we found another humpback whale, actually a very cooperative whale: It was diving a bit longer than the first whale, but it also spent a lot of time at the surface between the dives and never travelled far away from our boat. We got some nice pictures when the humpback whale was lifting its majestic fluke with the beautiful snow covered mountains in the background and on the way back to Húsavík we enjoyed a nice cup of hot chocolate.
