Schooner Opal in Scoresbysund

The schooner Opal has been cruising around Scoresbysund, the largest fjord in the world, on the northeast coast of Greenland for the last six weeks, exploring the natural wonders of the area. Opal takes a group of passengers, up to twelve people, on a week-long expedition around Scoresbysund and has every single trip been extremely successful.

This unique expedition offers passengers and crew the opportunity of exploring the nature at its very best. The adventure starts by visiting the small village Ittoqqortoormiit and enjoying a lovely dinner with the local people before heading into the fjord. The explorers go on land at several locations and explore the nature by foot. Sightings of a musk ox or an arctic hare are not uncommon when hiking in the area and seals, narwhales and even polar bears have been spotted while sailing around the fjord. Living on a traditional two-mast schooner and sailing in between majestic mountains, glaciers, and icebergs in the untouched nature is certainly an amazing experience.
