A day of contrasts
Unlike the weather forecast his Thursday started foggy and the sea was quite rough. But what surprised us most was the fact that we didn’t find any whales in the morning! Our boats spread throughout the bay, but none of them was successful.
Fortunately conditions changed completely in the afternoon. The wind calmed down, it was sunny and – what pleased us most – the whales were back! We spotted five humpback whales in the afternoon and the evening was even better: We encountered six different humpback whales and we spotted white beaked dolphins almost everywhere in the bay. The sea was very calm and the low evening sun enabled us to spot the blows already from far away. When we entered the harbor, a wonderful sunset made a perfect end of this tour.
But this again reminded us that we enter the wild nature – we can’t influence anything and conditions might change even within hours! But this, of course, keeps it exciting!
