Four species in the sun!
We sailed out in beautiful sunshine this morning and only a few minutes after we left the harbour we spotted a very big spout. As we got closer to it we realized that this was actually a Blue whale, the biggest animal ever to have lived on the earth. We got a few looks at the Blue Whale and then we sailed further west where we came across several Humpback whales. One of them was feeding very close to the boat so we got some really good looks at it. Later on we also saw a Minke whale so our morning trip was very successful with three species of baleen whales. During the 13:30 and the 17:00 tours we spotted both the Humpbacks and the Minke whales again and also some Harbor Porpoises. We didn’t find the Blue whale again, fingers crossed we see it again tomorrow.
