…and the feeding party goes on
Yesterday was a great day for whale watching here in the bay, and today was quite similar: We headed straight west towards the mountains and as we came closer, there were again hundreds of seabirds (mainly kittiwakes and fulmars) circling around at the surface…..and in between them we spotted at least three different minke whales. Also one humpback whale was not far away and after we had taken a good look at this feeding frenzy, we decided to sail a bit further north. And that paid off: It didn’t take long until we found two more humpback whales!
In the afternoon, we found the minke whales again (close to “Fiskisker”, the Fish Rock) and in the same area we also spotted a small group of harbour porpoises. Later on we sailed further north into the area were the humpback whales had been earlier and found three humpback whales, one of them always coming up really close to our boat!
