Two very hungry Humpback Whales
Both our 10:00 and our 13:30 tour have been very similar today: We went out in beautiful weather conditions and it didn’t take long until we came across two humpback whales, feeding just south of the puffin island Lundey. They were both very busy feeding and obviously very hungry…..which is understandable, as some whales have lost up to 1/3 of their body weight when they arrive here in their summer feeding grounds, as they usually don’t eat that much during the wintertime when they are in their warm-water breeding grounds.
We enjoyed the two humpback whales and we also took a look at Lundey, watching some puffins and other seabirds.
The weather forecast looks good for the next days, so we are looking forward for the next tours.
