Humpback and Minke Whales after the storm
It is always exciting to go out again after a storm or a period of bad weather. We had cancelled our tours the last two days due to bad weather so we were excited to go out again this morning.
As we left the harbour we set the course towards the mountains and after having crossed the bay, we came across a minke whale close to the Fish Rock (“Fiskisker”). But this minke whale was not very easy to follow, so we decided to sail further north and scan the area where the humpback whales had been around before the storm. And that payed off:
There were at least three humpback whales in the area, two of them always surfacing together.
On the afternoon tour we saw the same two species (Humpback Whale and Minke Whale) quite well again, feeding among big groups of seabirds.
