Humpback and Minke Festival!
This weekend we have had absolutely amazing whale watching conditons again.
The weather has been really good in October so far and also yesterday and today the sun was shining for most of the time, making the bay look really beautiful, especially the mountains on the western side of the bay.
Also the whales seem to like it here this autumn and we still have an impressive number of humpback and minke whales in the bay, mainly close to the mountains, about eight miles north-west of Húsavík.
On the second trip today at one point we also had six humpback whales together, side-by-side – absolutely amazing!!!
And while waiting for the humpback whales to come up again, there were minke whales surfacing everywhere around us, both close and far.
All in all, two more wonderful whale watching days in Skjálfandi Bay.
