Minke and Humpback Whales

There is still an impressive number of humpback whales in Skjálfandi bay and on some of our tours during the last days, we also spotted several minke whales in the same area where the humpback whales have been feeding.

Yesterday morning we got a really nice close-up look at both minke and humpback whales, whereas yesterday afternoon and also this morning the humpback whales played the main role.

There must have been at least five or six humpback whales in the area – not bad for this time of the year!

Strong wind prevented us from going out this afternoon, but hopefully the weather will change soon, allowing us to go out again.
