A sea surface or a mirror?
Today Garðar went out for two really successful tours; in weather conditions to remember! It was fully booked for both of the tours and of course it’s always pleasant experience for a guide to be able show so many passengers something as amazing as the whale watching was today. On both of the tours we saw three humpback whales and actually the three same once. On both of the encounters they were calm and we were very close to them. We were able to see the entire whale in the surface just by the boat and they also lifted the fluke high. At the morning trip the sea was really calm and by the mountains in the west of Skjálfandi bay it was like a mirror; so the mountains reflected in the surface. On both occasions we saw white-beaked dolphins and on the first tour we spotted a minke whale. I know about some passengers that were very pleased with their tour and said that beforehand they hadn’t imagined that whale watching could be such amazing experience.
