Safety training
Today the strong northern winds made us incapable of going whale watching. The wave buoy close to Grimsey Island showed 3.4 meters at the highest and the rain was pouring.
Still we showed up for work, since captain Hrólfur had called us in for a safety training. We carefully went over the safety equipment on board our boats, counting life jackets and preparing on how to launch our liferafts. The practiacal part of the training was to respond to dead engine and a drifting boat, where we put all passengers in lifejackets and dropped anchor.
It is safe to say that the three hours spent on the training, were well spent.
Though, of course, we are all hoping for a better weather tomorrow!
