Whale watching in beautiful weather
Both our trips on Garðar today were very successful. First we saw around 5 Humpback whales feeding in the middle of the bay and later we found two Minke whales, also feeding and one of them was quite curious and came really close to the boat. On the way home we found one Humpback laying on it’s back, hitting the surface with it’s flippers. Both trips very successful.
We had calm and very beautiful weather, the bay looked it’s best as you can see one this photo. I, Baldur, just started recently guiding on my own and I think it’s going pretty well, I’m learning a lot of new and interesting things with the help from the others in the crew. Our most experienced guide Huld Hafliðadóttir joined me on one of the tours and gave me pointers on what I was doing good and what I could do better. For example she pointed out that I was almost screaming in the microphone, that was a very good point.
She also took this pleasant photo of one of our schooners called Hildur and I think it captures that day pretty well.
