Amazing whale watching conditions
The sea conditions were excellent today, but it was also a perfect day regarding the whales: On both tours we had almost non-stop whale watching! On the morning tour we spotted three humpback whales just minutes after we had left the harbour. We stayed with them for a while before we decided to head further west to try to find more whales. In the south-western part of the bay we were rewarded with a fourth humpback whale and two very nice minke whales.
We switched off the engine and enjoyed the humpback whale feeding just within a few metres from the boat. Also the two minkes were very friendly and surfaced several times just next to us.
On the way back we saw the humpbacks again (from the beginning of the tour) and one of them even breached!
During the afternoon tour the whale festival continued. One hour after we had left the harbour we had already seen four different humpback whales and two different minke whales! And to top that one of the humpbacks breached completely out of the water just a few metres from the boat! Absolutely amazing!
Just like in the morning we headed a bit further west and enjoyed some nice minke whale watching in the area close to the mountains.
All in all an absolutely perfect day at sea with nice weather and lots of whales!
