Beautiful weather, but no whales

Today we had beautiful weather here in Skjálfandi Bay: The sun was shining and the sea was much calmer than yesterday. We left the harbour onboard “Náttfari” with 16 passengers full of hope. We started the tour with a visit to Lundey, the puffin island. After some nice bird watching we went further west, towards the mountains, in hope to find some whales. But even though we tried our best and searched a big part of the bay, we were not rewarded this time.

In the afternoon we went out again, once again searching a big area, but the only cetaceans we found were two harbour porpoises close to the mountains in the western part of the bay.

Let’s hope for more luck during the next days ;-).
