Dagmar Aaen leaves Húsavík
The Sail Húsavík came to an end some days ago and during these days, most sailing boats are leaving our harbour. Yesterday, the Dagmar Aaen set sail towards Greenland. The plan is to sail into an area north of Scoresbysund and if possible, the crew and their experienced captain Arved Fuchs might even reach 77° north. But due to the ice situation in Scoresbysund, they will not sail directly towards Greenland. When leaving Húsavík, the course was set to Siglufjörður and before entering the open sea and sailing to Greenland, the boat will make another stop at Grímsey. We wish our friend Arved Fuchs and the rest of the crew a safe and good trip and we are looking forward to welcome Dagmar Aaen again here in Húsavík at the end of August, when the boat will be on the way back to Germany. More information about the boat, the crew and the expeditions can be found on www.arved-fuchs.de
