Large number of blue whales spotted in the bay.

Today our crews spotted a lot of blue whales. Blue whales like most whales are very hard to count as they can dive for a very long time and can move incredibly fast. Our estimates are that the number of blue whales currently in the bay is somewhere between 6 and 9 different animals, although of course we can’t really be sure. The total population of blue whales in the North Atlantic is believed to be somewhere between 600 and 1500 animals so these whales we have here are statistically quite a large part of that population.
