A nice tour in the western part of the bay
I went on a tour today, at 13.30, on Bjössi Sör. Today starts the part of the year during what we have only two tours per day, but that doesn‘t mean that they have to be worse, in fact today we had a good tour.
The day was windy but not very cold and it rained a little bit, but those facts weren‘t able to disappoint us. Halla Marín was the guide, and Hrólfur the captain, and both of them managed to find in the west part of the bay, very close to the mountains, a Minke Whale. Today we could see clarerly how the water has a different colour in that part of the bay, is because of the glacier river Skjálfandafljót that the water turns into a pale green colour, almost grey. Was in that part of the bay where we found a Minke Whale very busy feeding, and we had a great sighting of it. The whale came close to the boat a few times, and few times too we could see it surfacing showing the lower white part of the head, something that we don‘t see everyday.
