Garðar launched
There was a turning point in the shipyard today when Garðar finally got it’s mast and was then taken out and sailed for the first time after renovation. It didn’t go far though, not this time, just one round about the harbour. Then it was tied to the pier as it is not completely ready, the work will continue by the harbour until the boat will be fully equipped to take passengers out whale watching.
Following pictures were taken today.
Getting the mast ready
Stefán Jón pulled up the mast
And the mast in its place
Breaking a bottle of champagne according to the tradition
And ready to launch
Off it goes, everything working as planned
Everything worked out perfectly
Sailing with Náttfari for the first time
And heading into the harbour
