A strange humpback whale

It was a bit strange day. It went from being really special to being a bit dull. Bibbi and Hjalti had a unique tour at the beginning of the day with a feeding humpback whale and I think bibbi is going to upload photos from that trip tomorrow. Also I heard that on one trip, capt. Hreiðar and guide Hildur saw the same humpback do a thing that they have never seen before. It lobtailed so close to the boat that Hildur was afraid for a moment that it had actually hit some of the passengers in front. Luckily it didn't but Hildur told me it was only a matter of centimeters!

I came to work at 17:00 and this humpback whale had obviously already had it for today. We found it but it wasn't doing anything special. Always surfacing just once or twice and then diving for a while. But we got it really close and everybody saw it good.

Me and capt. Bjarki went out on the evening trip and as it was really cloudy it was getting a bit dusky at the later part of the trip. We found the humpback whale though but we saw it only twice and then never again. Either it was diving for so long or traveling away. On that trip we also saw a lot of porpoises really good.
