4 species today: harbour porpoises, minke whales, humpback whales and dolphins
It’s hard to believe how easy it’s been with the whales these last days. Today was no exception, it seems as if the whales have enough to feed in the bay. And the birds as well, there has been a lot of arctic terns and puffins around today. Me and my uncle, captain Hrólfur, have been out twice today and had great success on both tours. We saw three humpback whales on both the tours. On the earlier we also saw dolphins and two or three minke whales. On the second we didn’t see dolphins but instead we saw some harbour porpoises. We had a really nice time with one of the humpback whales on the second tour. It was our old friend Konni, one that has been here for about a month now. It was just resting at the surface and saw it really good. Once it came so close I think the people in front almost could have touched it.
