Great days with humpback whales
After a few amazing weeks with blue whales in the bay they seem to have left us but the humpback whales remain to our passengers great pleasure.
The last days have been calm and nice, a bit foggy at times but that luckily hasn't prevented us from finding the humpbacks. They have been staying at pretty much the same place in the bay for some days now, apparently feeding, but sometimes taking their time to go "tourist watching." That always makes people really happy, the humpback whale sticks it's head out of the water as if trying to see what's happening onboard.
The humpback whales can get really big when fully grown: up to 17 meters long and 25-40 tons. They are famous for their gigantic flippers and the fluke which they raise when deep-diving.
Following pictures were taken on our trips in the last days.
