Whale watching in the fog
Tonight incredible luck and our good crew worked together to make a fantastic trip against all odds. The weather was murky and foggy when we headed out for our 8:15 pm tour, visibility was low and the Northern winds strong. But none the less everybody was prepared to try and ready for anything.
First we found three dolphins that stayed with us for just a few minutes and for a while it looked like that would be our only sighting. But then, in the middle of a foggy spot, we spotted two humpback whales swimming close together. These humpbacks stayed with us for quite a while, diving for a few minutes each time and then appearing before us again, but never so far away that we lost them in the fog. At last we had to turn back to harbour, very satisfied with the night's findings. On the way back, however, we encountered both a blue whale and a third humpback whale!
Overall a great trip in the fog.
