20 years of Dagmar Aaen Expeditions
Last weekend, Arved Fuchs and his team celebrated 20 years of expeditions with the "haikutter" Dagmar Aaen. This highly successful 18 meter long former fishing cutter built in Esbjerg 1931 has covered more miles than most of it's like.

Hörður Sigurbjarnarson and Heimir Harðarson of North Sailing were among 200 friends and crew-members that celebrated the anniversary in Flensburg Germany last saturday and enjoyed themselves very much as always when visiting this friendly harbor city. There were many interesting stories and speeches flying around and Niels Bach, a 71 year old Dane and former owner of Dagmar Aaen came right to the point when he claimed "the old lady, Dagmar Aaen to have seen more of the world than other danish fishing cutters and that she was a real metropolitan lady". After all however, no boat sails alone and Arved Fuchs is responsible for sailing her safely over 220.000 nautical miles since 1989 which equals going 10 times around the world by equator. See Arved Fuchs expeditions website here.
Our best thanks to Arved, Brigitte and co for inviting us for this historical event!
