5 species in a lovely morning trip.
M/B Bjössi Sör went out to the calm and beautiful Skjálfandi bay this morning with 35 passengers onboard. In this trip we spotted four different species, Harbour porpoises, White beaked dolphins, Minke whale, three Humpback whales and the majestic Blue whale.
The Blue whale put up a great show for the passengers when she lifted the fluke almost every time she took a deep dive. I say “she” because it is thought that only pregnant females lift the fluke when taken a deep dive.
The Humpback whales were very busy feeding just right underneath the surface. Though one of them took a little time off to approach the boat and say “hallo” to the passengers.
One of North Sailings photographers, Hilmar V. Gunnarsson, took some pictures this morning, enjoy.
