Three day Island Hopping in the Arctic – 7th June
The first departure for the three day tour on board the Schooner Haukur has sold out, but there are still places on the 7th June.
On this unique trip you experience the exceptional nature and culture of the northern coastline in Iceland. The tour offers you three days of sailing on Haukur the Schooner, wildlife watching and a chance to see some of the most stunning locations in north Iceland, including;
Grímsey; located on the Arctic Circle and is the most northerly inhabited area of Iceland and offers a unique chance to watch the seabirds close up.
Siglufjörður; the most northerly town in Iceland and the historic setting of ‘the great herring adventure’ during the 20th century. Lively town full of history.
Flatey Island; where time has stood still for decades- an unforgettable chance to walk back in time.
Lundey; one of the largest puffin colonies of the shore of Iceland.
Whale Watching on Skjálfandi Bay, one of the most known whale watching area in Europe.
The tour is aimed at small groups and individuals and maximum number of passengers per tour is 6 (and minimum nr. 4 passengers)

Haukur the Schooner is the only one of its kind in Iceland and is a replica of the shark fishing boats common in the area in the early 20th century.

The trip offers a great opportunity to see a variety of birdlife, including puffins, arctic turns, common guillemot, gulls, red-necked phalarope northern phalarope, kittiwake, razorbill, and even a chance to see the little auk, but Grimsey is one of the few places it nests in Iceland.
Onboard the passengers get to take as much or little part in the sailing as they wish and there is always time to enjoy the spectacular scenery.
Experienced captain and guide will lead the trip and teach interested passengers how to sail the schooner. The tour is all inclusive of all meals and cooking and cleaning will be in the hands of the crew.
