Icelandair staff from London on summer´s first trip.
Yesterday, North Sailing had the pleasure of hosting a group of employees from the Icelandair office in London. They were here to study North Sailing´s operation and see what Húsavík has to offer. Although the official whale watching season hasn´t started yet, nobody could resist sailing out to the beautiful bay as conditions were great, flat sea and 14°C. North Sailing´s boat, Bjössi Sör, that had actually just arrived from Akureyri where it undertook som major improvement was chosen for the event. The group enjoyed a short sailing around Lundey, where puffins have already arrived, and a short detour out to the bay where White beaked dolphins greeted the first whale watchers of this season and played around the boat for a while.
After this enjoyable sailing everyone had a delicious lunch at Gamli Baukur Restaurant and visited the Whale Museum. Thereafter everyone returned with a first hand experience of Húsavík´s flourishing tourism opertunities.
It´s now only a few days until the season will take off with daily trips throughout May, and North Sailing folks are looking forward to their eleventh season on the Bay.
